Chiropody, or Podiatry (pronounced: pod-i-at-ree), is the branch of medicine that deals with ailments of the feet. The common conditions seen are corns, callouses, verrucae, ingrowing nails and fungal infections of the nails and skin on the feet.
Podiatrists also prescribe orthotic devices for foot and gait correction and advise on remedial foot exercises.
